About
This blog
Why? are we just vain?
No, this blog is intended to keep an illustrated diary/record of a unique 2-part pacific “road trip” embarked upon by two best friends in August and September 2008.
Andrew Gilbert & Daniel Fascia, both doctors about to enter the next step in their careers (GP and Radiologist) had the fortune of 2 carefree months. They chose to travel a joint favourite part of the world once again, just like back in the elective days.
Technical Notes
Photography all by Daniel Fascia on a Canon 400d using a 17-40 F4L lens (95% of photos) and a 50/1.8 for a few. Polarising filter recently added as of Yosemite’s Ansel Adams gallery.
Posts are thrown together on the road whilst Gilly is driving on an Asus EeePC 701 original edition, though I find it very restrictive for photo manipulation. That is why I’m not usually that happy with the photos that get published.
Internet access has ranged from transferring everything onto a USB drive in the name of posting through to paying exorbitant hourly rates for wifi (Auckland airport – you are guilty). America is wonderful, nearly every motel and coffee shop offers free wifi, it’s just a commodity and way of life here and so it should be!
